Swedish - Swedish massage uses four main strokes to stimulate the circulation of blood through the body; petrissaqe (kneading), effleuraqe (stroking, friction), tapotement (percussion) and vibration. The term Swedish massage refers to a collection of techniques designed primarily to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones and rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart (Light to Medium).
Deep Tissue - Slow strokes and deep finger pressure on areas of the body suffering from chronic muscle tension or areas that simply ache or feel contracted. Deep tissue massage is especially effective with tense areas such as stiff necks or sore shoulders (Medium-Deep).
Medical (Clinical) Massage - Medical massage differs from regular massage and bodywork in that the treatment is specifically directed to resolve conditions that have been diagnosed by a physician, physical therapist or chiropractor. Medical massage therapy is a scientifically applied system of manual medicine protocol directed at the treatment of specific musculoskeletal pathology. The techniques of medical massage therapy employ a greater concentration of manually directed physical soft tissue and joint techniques. (Medium-Deep)
I understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone’s life. Business meetings, project deadlines, flight delays, car problems, snowstorms, and illness are just a few reasons why one might consider canceling an appointment. In my desire to be effective and fair to all of my clients and out of consideration for my time, I have adopted the following policies: ·
24 hour advance notice is required when cancelling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment. I often have clients hoping to take an earlier session. Less than 24 hours notice will result in a $25 charge. This amount must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment.
No-shows: Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for whatever reason will be considered a “no-show”. They will be charged for their missed appointment and future service will be denied until payment is made. Groupon redemption certificates or gift certificates for Studio Renew, LLC may be used as payment for the missed session. . If you have purchased a package of sessions, one may be deducted if you prefer. ·
*You are considered a No-Show if you are 15 minutes late to a scheduled appointment and there has been no communication.*
Arriving late: Appointment times have been arranged specifically for you. If you arrive late your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, I will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment. If you arrive 15 minutes late without notice, the appointment is considered a No-Show. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the full session.
I LOOK FORWARD TO SERVING YOU.
